...DISCUSSION...

Some patchy freezing drizzle is possible this morning, across
southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia, before gradually
transitioning to light rain. Otherwise, most of the area will remain
dry today, along with warmer temperatures as a southeasterly wind
develops. High temperatures today will top out in the mid to upper
40s for most of the area. Clouds will lower and thicken tonight, as a
southwest flow of mild and moist air develops. Weak disturbance s
will act on this moisture, to produce rounds of rain Wednesday into
Friday, when a cold front crosses. That precipitation may end briefly
as snow, or a wintry mix, late Friday into Friday night. A dry
weekend will follow, as long as the front keeps on moving. Saturday
will be seasonably chilly behind the cold front, followed by milder
weather for Sunday. More rain is possible early next week, with above
normal temperatures.
