SPECIAL NOTE TO SUBSCRIBERS:
As we prepare for the traditional Spring Flood Season, USGS and
its partners have rolled out two new stream monitoring products:
(1) WaterAlert: which allows you to receive text or email when a given
stream reaches or exceeds a Stage or Flow value you specify; and
(2) StreaMail: which allows you to query a specific stream gauge
by text or email to request its most recent Stage & Flow values.
These two services are now available nationwide for select river gauges,
including 6 in the Hocking River watershed. Additional details at:

* FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...SOUTHEAST
OHIO AND WEST VIRGINIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...BOYD...CARTER...GREENUP AND LAWRENCE KY.
IN SOUTHEAST OHIO...ATHENS...GALLIA...JACKSON OH...LAWRENCE

VULNERABLE TO FLOODING.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

STUBBORN LOW CLOUDS WILL GRADUALLY ERODE AWAY BY EARLY AFTERNOON
WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES. THIS WILL BE A BRIEF RESPITE BEFORE THE
NEXT WET SYSTEM APPROACHES.
AN APPROACHING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL SPREAD RAIN OVER THE REGION
ON THURSDAY. BY THE TIME THE RAIN PULLS OUT EARLY FRIDAY...ONE TO
TWO INCHES OF RAIN MAY FALL ACROSS THE AREA. WITH THE WET GROUND IN
SOME AREAS...PLUS THE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN...HIGH WATER MAY BECOME
AN ISSUE.
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES CAN BE EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY
NEXT WEEK. ONE DISTURBANCE PASSING TO THE NORTH MAY BRING RAIN OR A
LITTLE SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY...WHILE ANOTHER LARGE AND WET
SYSTEM MAY ARRIVE BY MONDAY.
