Study Away Programs
If you are aware of off-campus programs in the United States, please note that they should be collaborating with the Office of Global Opportunities (OGO) if they meet the following criteria:

* Provide access to facilities, locations, populations, and/or materials not available on the Athens Campus (e.g. rock formations, immigrant or indigenous groups, museums, recreation areas, theaters, businesses/agencies, historical sites, etc.) that enhance the learning opportunities related to the content of the course.

* Involve the relocation of the majority of a course along with the instructor (excludes occasional field trips for part of a course or internship /coop programs that do not involve relocating the instructor).

The OGO can provide two levels of assistance to colleges offering Domestic Study Away programs.

Level 1 - At a minimum, programs must be registered with the OGO and pay a $75 fee per student to become part of the central risk management process. At this level, colleges are responsible for recruiting students, setting up and managing sites, creating and monitoring budgets, setting up course sections and registering students, etc. Services provided by OGO include 24-hour emergency response support and the development and continued oversight of consistent preventative risk management procedures, such as waiver language signed by students.

Level 2 - At this level OGO will provide full administrative oversight for the program in exchange for 10% of the program revenues. In addition to the services offered in Level 1, the OGO will provide additional support for advising, marketing, budgeting, bill payment, and course registration management.
