Dear All,
I know that we are working acidly on the Tom Martinez event. I was just
contact by Dr. Bridges and other working with SIDE to schedule the next
STARS training event which is going to be held *APRIL 16 12-4pm*. Please
mark your calenders. Please let me know if you will be able to make it or
not (email me at kh148408 at ohio.edu) So that I can give Dr. Bridges a head
count. If this doesnt work for everyone please let me know so I can have the
reschedule.

 Hello SIDE’ers:

 It has been approximately 2 ½ months since our January meeting with SIDE
facilitator, Mark P. Orbe.  Since this meeting, several of you have
volunteered your time and efforts in supporting the winter and spring
*Diversity
Dialogue Brown Bag Series*, exclusively designed for Ohio University (OU)
employees.  We’ve had continued success with the implementation of the
series and hope to extend the series from the fall through the spring
quarter as we prepare for the 2011 SIDE cohort!

 As part of the S*tudent Dialogue About Difference, *Students Teaching About
Racism in Society (*STARS*), has indicated a desire to continue the
diversity training with certified SIDE trainers and professional DAE staff.
  The initial SIDE-STARS training was held in February and we are looking to
set up another training during the month of April (on a Saturday).  The
SIDE-STARS training is student-centered, will require roughly four (4) hours
of your time and serves to equip STARS members with the ability and
resources to effectively teach these values to other students through the OU
campus community.  Several of you have indicated an interest in working with
students and now is your opportunity!  We need 2-3 certified SIDE trainers
to facilitate this training.

 On a side note, the Office of Education Abroad (OEA) and Catherin Marshall,
Director of Education Abroad/ SIDE colleague, has extended the deadline for
the*OEA Diversity Scholarship* until March 21.  Students who are studying
abroad during summer or fall 2011 are eligible to apply.  You can find full
