<p><br>Program Coordinator (Pre-Professional Health Studies)<br>JOB DESCRIPTION<br>Job Summary: Under general direction, participates in advising, organizing and administering courses, and coordinating job shadowing experiences for students; supports the Pre-Health Committee on evaluations; coordinates advising and programming for transfer student.<br>
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>May include any and/or all of the following:<br>Advises pre-professional students and medical scholars; helps students with registration, planning coursework, major selection, and the admission process. <br>
Coordinates advising and programming for transfer students; advises transfer students on coursework, professional school requirements, and admission processes; develops opportunities and programs that focus on transfer student success in the transition to the University. <br>
Coordinates classes and shadowing opportunities for undergraduate students; administers the Orientation to the Helping Professions course; organizes the shadowing program for pre-health students. <br>Performs other duties as assigned. <br>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS<br>Knowledge of University policies and procedures, campus resources, student life, and support services <br>Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including minority and international students <br>
Interpersonal/human relations skills <br>Ability to encourage and empower students to make their own decisions <br>Ability to maintain confidential information <br>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<br>Education and experience equivalent to:<br>
Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred; supplemented with one (1) year related work experience.<br clear="all"></p>
