This class will offer students theoretical frameworks and practical tools for advocating for change in organizational systems.  Students will examine historical and contemporary advocacy initiatives within higher education as case studies for conceptualizing future change projects.  By the end of the course, students will be able to assess their own strengths and growth areas as current and potential change agents in organizations.   Students will also learn how to determine an advocacy project's legitimacy based on credibility standards derived from the organizational scholarship on the topic.  Finally, students will acquire concrete communication strategies for creating, developing, gaining buy-in, and proposing an advocacy initiative.
