Job Description
Career Development Specialist - West Lafayette - Health and Human Sciences Administration( 1301124)
Description

Serve as Career Development Specialist in the College of Health & Human Sciences (HHS). Duties may include but will not be limited to: providing leadership and planning for all aspects of career development within HHS; collaborating with academic units and Student Services staff to determine programmatic needs and means of support; developing, implementing, and assessing programs, workshops, networking opportunities, and career fairs for HHS students; providing outreach to multiple constituencies, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and recruiters, related to career development of students; serving as the HHS liaison to the Center for Career Opportunities; and providing training and support to and collaborating with professional staff and faculty.
Qualifications

Required:

  *   Master's degree in Health or Human Sciences, Business, Human Resources, Counseling, Student Personnel or closely related field.
  *   Minimum of three years professional work experience utilizing academic degree.
  *   Excellent, organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  *   Must be a self-starter who can plan, monitor, and meet objectives.
  *   Must be energetic, enthusiastic, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with students.
  *   Ability to adjust to last-minute changes.
  *   Must be flexible about work times and scheduling as some evening and weekend work is required.
  *   Required public speaking therefore candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  *   Computer skills to include email and calendaring, word processing, database management, and spreadsheets(i.e. Microsoft Office).
Preferred:

  *   Experience in career services or corporate relations.
  *   Counseling and outreach experience.
Additional Information:

  *   A background check is required for employment in this position.
  *   FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)
  *   Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period
