Summer Graduate Internship Opportunities



The College at Brockport is pleased to offer 8-week summer graduate internship opportunities in the following areas.


*         Welcome Week/Student Activities

*         Community Development

*         Summer Orientation & Prevention and Outreach Services

*         International Programs

*         Residential Life & Living Learning Communities

*         Educational Opportunity Programs

*         Student Union & Activities

*         Leadership Development




Compensation

*         $1600 (pre-tax) + $600 meal allowance.

*         Apartment living provided - separate sleeping room with shared common space, including full kitchen, washer/dryer, internet, cable.

*         College Recreation Center Membership.

*         Free parking.

*         Bike borrowing available.

*         Travel expenses to and from Brockport are not included.

*         Paid registration and round-trip ground transportation to the NASPA Region II Graduate Assistant/New Professional Conference on June 9, 2013 in New York City.

*         Paid registration to the New York Leadership Educators Conference and the Western New York Assessment Consortium hosted by The College at Brockport.



General Expectations & Experiences

*         May 30 - July 26 (some flexibility based on travel schedule)

*         40 hours/week with some evening and weekend responsibilities

*         Specific job descriptions can be found at http://www.brockport.edu/emsa/interns

*         Business casual attire

*         Weekly workshops/seminars facilitated by College administrators on topics related to working in higher education and student affairs.



Application Process

*         Send a resume, a cover letter which includes a rank order of the three positions that interest you most and an explanation of why you chose that rank, and three professional references to emsaintern at brockport.edu<mailto:emsaintern at brockport.edu> by January 4, 2013.  Position offers will be made by January 25.

*         A background check is required.
