Assistant Director of Student Activities

Nova Southeastern University invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Assistant Director of Student Activities.

The university is seeking a creative and energetic professional who will provide expertise and leadership for the university’s student organization program. Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, the Assistant Director is primarily responsible for building and maintaining a vibrant student organization program that serves undergraduates at the University. The Assistant Director will provide training, advisor support, recruitment events, and organizational development strategies to both students and advisors to help build their capacity to attract and retain members. The Assistant Director will also oversee logistical support and policy compliance for student groups as well. Additionally, the AD will oversee the Student Events and Activities (SEA) Board. Educate and assist the student program board in essential programmatic elements such as event production, publicity, budgeting, artist relations, and risk management.  Negotiate performance agreements for various vendors and artist and work with appropriate University Officials for approval. Assist with planning and implementing of major NSU traditions like Weeks of Welcome, Sharkapalooza, Homecoming, NSU’s Got Talent and Crunch Brunch.  Assist with some aspects of fraternity and sorority life.

This position requires a Master's degree in College Student Affairs or related degree and a minimum of one to three years experience in student affairs administration or a related field. Prior experience in leadership and organizational development initiatives in higher education is highly desirable.
