Hi Rach,

Not sure who the new SPA Exec folks are, but if you have them forward this out on the listserv, it's an internship opportunity for the summer in career counseling at Georgia State. Do note that the deadline is this Friday though!

Thanks a bunch,

Leslie

Greetings Commission Colleagues!

http://www.gsu.edu/career/46027.html

The link above directs one to the Career Counseling Internship program for graduate students seeking to strengthen their career counseling skills and knowledge. Applications are currently being accepted; deadline is 2/18/11. (But - applicants should contact Phil Rockwell - info below, if this is an issue).

We pay a stipend for two interns and can accommodate one or two additional interns (without a stipend). Interns must be enrolled in an accreditated graduate program and must be able to participate at 20 hours/week. We have had both masters-level and doctoral-level interns in the past. Specific requirements are listed on the application.

The University Career Services office at Georgia State University is a comprehensive career center: career counseling and assessment, professional and graduate school planning, employer relations and career fairs, job search support, career educational outreach, and special career-related programming. We serve undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. All majors and colleges make up our client base. Interns are exposed to the full range of career services, with in-depth career counseling and assessment training as the core.

If you know of any prospective graduate students who may have an interest, please forward this email to them. All questions regarding the internship program (including deadline questions) should be directed to the training coordinator, Phi Rockwell at: cjspgr at langate.gsu.eduor 404-413-1829. The training brochure can also be sent - contact Phil for this.

Thank you!
