 Hello Samantha and Rachel:

I am writing on behalf of the 2011 OASPA/OCPA Planning Committee to help
inform SPA of professional development events occurring within the Annual
Conference, held January 26-28, 2011 in Worthington, Ohio. The conference is
a wonderful networking and learning opportunity and there are additional
opportunities aimed specifically for graduate students within the conference
as well.

·         Career Resource Room- available throughout conference

o   Have your resume/cover letter reviewed and questions answered by career
services professionals throughout Ohio

·          Job Search Boot Camp- afternoon of Friday, January 28th - $20

o   Three sessions aimed at various aspects of the student affairs job
search, including;

§  Senior Student Affairs Officers panel- What are they really looking for?

§  Looking Beyond Salary- salary and benefits negotiation- What does it all
mean?

§  New Professionals panel- tips from new professionals on job searching in
a tight market

Please consider marketing these events and the 2011 OASPA/OCPA Annual
Conference to your students by posting this information on your web site,
sending through your organization’s list serve, and making an announcement
at your next meeting.
