PLEASE SHARE this with any and all interested students, including any very
strong undergraduates completing a bachelors degree who might be interested
in a career in student affairs.  This is a very important position on our
campus.  Situated in the beautiful rolling foothills of the Appalachian
Mountains, the Mansfield area is known for its beautiful country and outdoor
recreation opportunities.  Mansfield is situated just over one hour from
Cleveland, Columbus, and Akron.   The Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs
and Student Success provides leadership for programs and services serving
under-represented and minority students on the Mansfield Campus.  This
individual will also be involved in community outreach and admissions
related outreach.  A more detailed job description is available below.   The
Ohio State University-Mansfield has approximately 1700 students and 197
residential students.   This position will be listed next week at

Duty Description

Student Support:  Plan and direct services and other initiatives, targeted
at minority and under-represented student populations, relative to
recruitment, retention, early intervention, and academic success.  May serve
as a lead on specific retention related initiatives and serve as a Student
Success Coach for at risk students.

Program Planning:  Participate in on campus committees and facilitate event
planning that promotes student involvement and education related to
diversity and multicultural issues.  This includes: service on the
Diversity, Black History Month, and Convocation Committees; serving as a
student organization advisor to diversity related student organizations;
service project planning; and other events as needed or requested by the
Chief Student Life and Retention Officer.

Relationship Building and Community Outreach:  Interact with various
agencies and schools within the Mansfield/Richland County community to
partner on multicultural related initiatives.  Coordinate the pilot group of
the Legacy Scholars in the Mansfield City schools.

Office Management/Liaison Role:  Help develop and manage the budget.  Serve
as liaison to the Office of Minority Affairs and the Multicultural Center
and other Columbus Campus resources related to multicultural student issues.
Stay connected with other regional campus diversity offices of the
University.  Complete other duties as assigned.

Strategic Plan:  Assist the Dean and Director with strategic planning under
the auspices of the Multicultural Action Plan.  Assist with annual campus
reports as it relates to issues of diversity and multiculturalism.
