The Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) is Ohio’s educator licensure examination program. The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and Pearson are working together to update the OAE Middle Childhood Mathematics, Middle Childhood Science, Middle Childhood English Language Arts, and Middle Childhood Social Studies assessments. Part of this effort involves convening committees of educators to obtain a recommended passing score for each updated assessment. The passing score committee meetings are scheduled to take place on June 7th (Mathematics and Science) and June 8th (ELA and Social Studies).

ODE and Pearson are seeking applications for passing score committee participants from educator preparation program faculty and from licensed, practicing teachers. Participating committee members will be asked to participate for the full day of either June 7th or June 8th. Committee members will receive a $150 stipend (or, if a teacher’s school is still in session, his/her district will be provided substitute reimbursement). Committee members’ travel and meal expenses will be covered as well as one night’s stay at the host hotel (the Hyatt in downtown Columbus).
