Chapter Presidents and Council Officers,

       As most of you have heard or seen in the Post this morning, Beta Theta Pi was closed by their National Fraternity last night. Although this is a very unfortunate situation, it is a decision that the University is supporting. We know that this will have long term POSITIVE effects on our Greek Community and for Beta Theta Pi - though, often times these aren't seen in the present.
      With that said, I did want to reach out to all of you so you had an opportunity to address any concerns or ask any questions. I know some of you may be angry, frustrated, or even upset and I want you to know that these are appropriate feelings. You can either email me back, stop by the Greek Life Office, or share them at your respected Council Meetings.
      However, it is important that you refrain from speaking or making any comments to the Media. We want to limit the fuel of this story as much as possible - and therefore, it is important for our Community not to add to the fire. If you are contacted, you can direct all media outlets to the official press release on Beta Theta Pi's National Fraternity website: http://www.betathetapi.org/news/press-release. Please instruct ALL CHAPTER MEMBERS to do the same.

      I also wanted to encourage all of you to reach out to the individual members of Beta Theta Pi this week, and show them our support. As we can all imagine, they are going through a very difficult time right now.
