Gentlemen,

I would like to make sure we have a safe and fun halloween weekend. Restricted guest hours as follows:

Friday
8pm - 7am

Saturday
4pm - 7am

No one without a wristband will be allowed in the chapter house during those times.

There will be a list of all members and pledges at the door. You do not have to wear a wristband. I would suggest wearing one on Saturday as the Police will be here on Saturday night. If you don't have a wristband and do not have an ID, you will not be permitted to enter the house either. I will have wristbands and emergency contact forms in my room beginning at 5 on Friday. All guests are required to complete an emergency contact form. If you know someone will be visiting you on Saturday, feel free to pick up their wristband on Friday. With that being said, I will not give you another wristband to replace any lost wristbands. If one is broken, please bring it back to me and I will replace it. Many of you are probably wondering why this policy is in place. I would like to take a moment to explain.

Your safety is obviously our number one priority. Your financial security is also very important. Any damages caused by guests that occur in the house will be the responsibility of their host. Any other damages that occur will be deducted from your security deposit.

For those of you who do not know, we are also covered by liability insurance. During the busiest weekend in Athens, it is very important that we protect ourselves from any unnecessary incidents as the result of alcohol or plain ignorance and stupidity.

What is the responsibility of the Police Officers on duty?

- To make sure that only those with wrist bands and those who are members are permitted into the chapter house.

- To make sure that the chapter house is secure throughout the entire night

- To handle any emergency situations that may occur in or around the chapter house.

They are not here to check your BAC or ask you 100 questions. Keep in mind that they are still police officers. Therefore, you are not exempt from being a coherent and appropriate human being. If you are being an idiot, they can arrest you just as they would any other person. They have instructions to do what they see fit to ensure that everyone here remains safe.

A Few Tips:

- Stay with your guest throughout the night. Do not leave them.
- Make sure that your guest is aware of the location of the chapter house. Have them put the address of the house in their telephone or on a sheet of paper in their wallet or in their purse.
- Please give your guest the door code.
- Remind your guest that the same laws apply in Athens that exist in most other places in the United States
- Let the officers on duty know if you need any help. They will have emergency contact information for all guests.
- If anyone displays signs of overconsumption of alcohol, please get assistance immediately.
- All guest should be sleeping in your rooms or in one of the empty rooms on the second floor. No room will be reserved for one or two people. If someone wants to sleep there and there is space, they are permitted to do so.
- The Basement TV room and the First floor TV room should not be used as a sleeping area for your guests. The TV rooms can be used by any pledge members or out of house members who make the decision to remain at the house for the remainder of the night.
- No one is permitted to sleep in the formal living room.
- No alcohol is permitted on the first floor. NO EXCEPTIONS. Your guest will be asked to leave if they have any open containers on the first floor of the house.
- The name of the guest and their host will be on their wristband. If you need to identify a guest, please check their wristband.

I realize that these are not issues at any other point throughout the year. However, we are expecting 30 guests this weekend. Thank you all for your cooperation. If you have any questions for me, please let me know.

Amici,

Ronald
