Subject: Ride Pride Volunteer Lists Due Monday, September 13

Hi Everyone
This is just a reminder that I need your housing lists PREFERABLY EMAILED to me no later than Monday, at 8:00 a.m. EMAIL IS EASIER ON ALL OF US! I have had trouble reading handwriting, so typing an email is better! Just type the information on the attached form. Include address for check and approximate arrival time. These lists MUST BE ON MY COMPUTER BY Monday at 8:00 AM or you may be cancelled or have bonus may be deducted.
It takes some time to get housing arranged, make name tags and ride assignments so please send me this list ASAP. If you have people on the fence who cannot decide, put them on the list and then send me an email to drop names by Friday morning when you know for sure. Any last minute changes should be a short list of DROP THESE PEOPLE. Please send this Drop email no later than 8:00 a.m. Friday morning. ( Do Not send a complete new list, it is too difficult to compare and try to figure out which names have changed.) We are asking that you bring no more people that the number you originally indicated when you reserved your weekend.
As each of you know, we booked these weekends in late spring and everyone in your organization has had plenty of time to plan their schedules around it. You are still over a week away from show time. You may want to start following up and reminding everyone to ask for time off work, etc. so that your efforts are rewarded by strong participation from your group. Each person you bring, earns your group about $170 so for every six people, that is $1000. Please enlist the help of your president and officers NOW so that you do not have to panic with last minute cancellations.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE: You may not bring more than you said you would bring when you initially signed up. If you have questions concerning this number, please email me and ask. ( if you promised 10, you may not bring 15 or 20). Some groups had all but five people cancel but those five did a great job. I don’t want to have too many people. (Your donation is paid based on the number of volunteers times the hours they work.)

Proof of Age will be checked prior to issuing a room key. Ensure each member of the group brings a picture ID (preferably Drivers License) which contains date of birth. All Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

HOUSING: You will be staying in our COMMONS housing units. Most have three people per room. They have heat and air conditioning. BRING TWIN SHEETS, TOWELS & A PILLOW, AND ALARM CLOCK. If you are arriving sooner than 6:00 on Friday, feel free to stop by and check into housing prior to coming into the park. Just do this quickly and get to the park as soon as possible. Our housing is located within the fenced in area just prior to entering the Cedar Point Causeway. You may have to park on the right side and walk across the bridge to check in.

SATURDAY ONLY GROUPS: Although you do not need housing, I still need your list of names on Monday as well to prepare Timesheets, nametags and the list to allow you entry into the park.

CANCELLATIONS: Please let me know as soon as possible if you have to cancel. I do not like being in the position of sending out countless messages and leaving phone calls requesting an answer. Just let me know, PLEASE!

PLEASE distribute the information sheets to each member at your next meeting. As a leader, read through the grooming information sheet and PLEASE make sure that all volunteers who plan to work abide by these grooming guidelines!

RIDE PRIDE DRESS CODE: Ride Pride workers wear Khaki pants and white ( light colored ) shoes. Please bring a Organization Logo hat, sweatshirt, jacket for warmth. Ride Pride volunteers do not have to wear their khakis on Friday night.

NO JEANS, FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS: We cannot tolerate jeans or sandals. Anyone who reports for work in jeans will have to wear the dorky clothes we provide and buy tennis shoes.

SHAVING: Please have the guys who need to shave take care of this before we see them. No beards or goatees. A mustache is okay. Please refer to the grooming guidelines sheets that I sent you concerning male hair length. (No long hair or ponytails!)

EARRINGS, TONGUE RINGS AND OTHER FACIAL PIERCINGS: Are not acceptable to our wholesome grooming standards. Please remove them prior to working each day. Cartilage piercings in upper ears are also not permitted. We seem to have to argue or threaten bonus with one person every weekend, please do not have it be one of yours.

PARKING AND PARK ENTRY: Remember, go to the SPACE SPIRAL area for parking and to the guard booth by the sliding gate to get into the park. We will have supervisors at this gate to direct you to your training locations or assigned haunted houses.

RIDE PRIDE ORIENTATION AT 6:00 on FRIDAY: Please try to be on time. If some people have late classes, have them drive together. The people who are available to get here by 6:00, please send them ahead. If the entire group will be late, let me know so that we do not hold up training waiting for you. We will have supervisors on duty to do Ride Pride orientation until 10:00 pm. As each group arrives, they should report for orientation, we can not have orientation on Saturday morning.

If you are running late, or get caught in traffic, please have someone with a cell phone call Park Operations at 419-627-2301 and let us know your status.

EAT BREAKFAST before coming to work: We have serve breakfast at our employee cafeteria on Saturday mornings between 7:00 am and 10:30 am. This is a great way to start the day.

MILLENNIUM FORCE: We will be allowing all Ride Pride and Scream Team volunteers to ride Millennium Force at 9:45 am on Sunday morning. Please be on time if you are interested in riding.

CHECK THE WEATHER: Remember to check the weather and bring pants, sweatshirts, jackets and rain gear, if necessary.

Please reply to me so that I know you got my message and are planning on working or canceling.

USE MAPQUEST AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS: Designate a co-pilot to make sure you do not waste time and gas getting lost. Our address is 1 Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky, OH 44870.

SEND ME YOUR NEW ADDRESS AND PHONE: Many of you booked in the spring and may have moved and gotten new phone numbers as well. Please send me your updated addresses when you reply to this email.

If you have any questions, just email me or call. See you next Friday!
