Hi Everyone!

Congratulations; you appear to be growing, in just three short weeks, as aspiring school administrators.

Among other things, you are beginning to exhibit a recognition of the manner in which the parts of administration fit together. As mentioned during the first week, I aspire for you to become "chefs," not "cookbook cooks" of educational administration. When a recipe being used by a "cookbook cook" fails, the cook typically has to throw the disaster in the trash and order a pizza. When a dish being created by a chef begins to fail, the chef often can "save the day" through an understanding of the manner in which the components are supposed to work together.

Another analogy would be that I aspire for you to become "doctors of internal educational administration medicine," who understand the manner in which the systems of a school interrelate and function. As you may know, doctors of internal medicine are often requested for challenging diagnoses, as they know the manner in which the systems of the body are supposed to function together.

Well, if you know the manner in which the systems of a school are supposed to function together, then you are more likely to be able to solve effectively the problems that unfortunately emerge on a regular basis.

You will find attached a proposed agenda for the Thursday, June 21 class session. Please have access to the agenda at the time of the class session.
