* - Types of Leadership- Transactional (reactive)- Contingent Rewards - Tit
for tat. I will give you $ if you do things and stuff. Leader needs to
clarify the goals and rewards/punishments in detail.- Active Management by
Exception (MBE) - Immediate corrective action as soon as something goes
wrong in the process- Passive Management by Exception - Interveniens only
when objectives are not met or problems become serious- Laissez-faire -
hands off. Leader pushes decisions onto subordinates.- Transformational
(proactive)- Assumption - People will follow a person who inspires them. A
person with vision and passion can achieve great things. The way to get
things done is by injecting enthusiasm and energy.- Idealized Influence -
Core set of values. Leader takes risks.- Inspirational motivation - Clear
vision. Clear expectations. Demonstrate commitment to goals.- Superb
communication skills.- Communicate with precision.- Intellectual
stimulation - values creativity and autonomy among the leader's followers-
Individualized consideration - What makes each person tick? Tailor
responses to individuals.*
