Hello Patton College of Education and Human Services,

This is just a friendly reminder about the Patton College Annual Diversity Lecture to be held this Wednesday, May 11. Erin Gruwell, president of the Freedom Writers Foundation and the teacher from Long Beach, CA will be here at OU. Erin and her high school students wrote the book, “The Freedom Writers Dairy” which inspired the film Freedom Writers.

Ms. Gruwell travels nationwide to raise awareness about fostering an educational philosophy which values and promotes diversity.

Session open to OU and surrounding community
Date: May 11, 2011
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Old Nelson Banquet Hall.(venue can hold 450 people)

You are encouraged to attend . The evening lecture is a public event – all are welcome.
Book sales and signings will take place. .
