Greetings,

Hope your spring quarter is going great!

If you will be a sophomore or junior in the coming Fall quarter, you are 
encouraged to apply for a membership of Professional Retail Leaders (PRL). 
The mission of this organization is to serve the students in the Retail 
Merchandising program at Ohio University by representing them in 
communicating with retailers, faculty, and other groups.

During the past years, PRL has accomplished the following, and plans to 
accomplish much more with new members and years to come:

-Meeting with mock interviewers for lunch and to inform them about 
merchandising program
-Development of information packet to help familiarize students with major
-Retail Merchandising social to meet upperclassmen and faculty on a 
personal level and learn of their experiences
-organizing Internship Social and Study abroad social
-Hosting campus recruiters for informational sessions
-Gathering past students' internship information for benefit of future 
students

Participating in this program will provide great opportunities to practice 
your leadership skills. If you meet the following criteria, the faculty in 
Retail Merchandising program will highly encourage you to apply for a 
membership in this organization:

1.Have a great interest in pursuing a career in the retail industry;
2.Have a great interest in serving the Retail Merchandising students at 
Ohio University;
3.Major in Retail Merchandising;
4.Have a sophomore or junior status in the coming fall quarter;
5.Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or above in the major; and
6.Demonstrate professional attitudes and behaviors.

Each applicant needs to submit the following documents to Dr. Yingjiao Xu 
(Grover W324) by Friday, May 15:

1.	An application letter (motivation to join this program, qualifications, 
plans or ideas on what you want to accomplish as a member of PRL);
2.	A copy of current DARs; and
3.	A copy of your current resume.
