Learning Communities at Ohio University are designed, and proven, to improve the academic success and retention of first-year students by creating learning-based peer networks.</blockquote><blockquote type="cite" cite="" style="padding-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; "> </blockquote><blockquote type="cite" cite="" style="padding-top: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; ">In each community, a group of up to 25 students co-enroll in a set of thematically linked courses. One Peer Mentor is assigned to each of the Learning Communities.
