Faculty and staff from The Patton College of Education at Ohio University are hosting a series of virtual information sessions that highlight our stellar online programs. If you or your colleagues are interested in advancing your career opportunities, please register today to learn more and get your specific questions answered by the people who know the programs best. This session will highlight the fully online master’s degrees in Curriculum and Instruction<https://www.ohio.edu/education/teacher-ed/curriculum-instruction> and Reading Education<https://www.ohio.edu/education/teacher-ed/reading>. The faculty coordinators for both of these great programs will be present to answer your questions and share how each program can boost your teaching career to the next level. Information about the fully online Reading Endorsement also will be available. Note: The Curriculum and Instruction online master’s degree is currently accepting applications for spring semester and summer semester while the Reading programs are accepting applications to begin study in summer 2021.

This session will feature the online special education master’s degrees that prepare people from any background to obtain Ohio licensure as an intervention specialist. Three specializations are available: Early Childhood Intervention Specialist, Mild to Moderate Intervention Specialist, and Moderate to Intensive Intervention Specialist. Information about the Pre-Kindergarten Special Needs Endorsement also will be available.

  *   In addition, it will highlight the STEM+ for ALL Teaching Fellowship that equips people with science, technology, engineering, and math backgrounds to do a career pivot and gain licensure to become an intervention specialist in one of these specializations. Each prospective teacher in the Teaching Fellowship cohort will receive ongoing training, mentoring, and financial support. STEM+ for ALL is a partnership between Ohio University and the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) and so participants commit to a year-long paid internship in the Columbus, Ohio vicinity as well as serving as an intervention specialist for a minimum of three years.

This session will highlight the EPPLC, the one-year graduate-level certificate that equips you to become a powerful advocate for the education policy YOU CHOOSE. Investing in this nonpartisan online certificate has many benefits but two are key: 1) It teaches you how public policy works and how to communicate with legislators in a way they can understand and use to advance the information you give, and 2) It can be used as a springboard to master’s or doctoral study in educational leadership.
