[Ocees] Research Fair: Dr. Reed

Howdy Folks,

PLEASE COME TO THE RESEARCH FAIR THIS FRIDAY!
Life Science Building, bottom floor, 4PM start

Why the uppercase?  =-)  This is the most important Research Fair we’ve ever held because Dr. Kenneth Reed will be present, and he recently made a donation to OCEES that will enable us to offer year-long graduate student fellowships (with research funds). We want to recognize this contribution on Friday and announce the first-ever winner(s). We’ll also announce the winner(s) of the Reilly & Roosenburg Fellowship and hand out cash awards for the best posters. Taking an hour or two read posters, hang out, chat with friends, eat food, and have fun is a small price to pay for Dr. Reed’s generous support.

We will hold the annual OCEES Research Fair this Friday at 4:00 in LSB.  Please have your posters up for judging by 12:00 PM.  I will leave some command strips to hang your poster up and post-it notes in the hall, please write “G” if you are a graduate student and “UG” if you are an undergraduate on the post-it note and attach it on or next to your poster.  We will offer a $100 cash award for the best undergraduate and graduate poster as well as refreshments.  We hope that you can come out and join us as we celebrate the amazing research that our students are doing!

Our final EcoLunch of the year will be delivered by Umair Ahmad, titled: Wildfire effects on Parasitism and thermal Ecology in Lizards.  Please join us at 11:50 (talk starts at 12:00) in 159 Irvine Hall.

Finally, if you haven’t done so, please complete the survey by this Wednesday night for next year’s Darwin Speaker.
