We are offering a 1 credit hour, 1 weekend grant writing course in Fall semester that we thought your students may be interested in. It will be offered October 2-3 all day both days and is open to both undergrads (ideally upper level undergrads) and grad students. While the course is listed as Environmental Studies, the topics of the grant RFPs that students can work with will be more wide ranging. We would appreciate it if you would share this opportunity with students who may be interested. Details are below. Thanks again,
Natalie
ES 4900 Section 101 Class #13094
ES 5900 Section 101 Class #13257
The one-credit, one-weekend grantwriting course provides a beginning-to-end, applied grantwriting experience for engaged teams of students. Listed under Environmental Studies, there are nevertheless a wide variety of current local, State and Federal grant grants from which participants choose to work, including topics in environmental protection, educational outreach, community development, and general non-profit support. Participants assess the ‘mission fit’ of a grant proposal concept, consider the best team to perform under a given grant, draft a proposal outline, and present a proposal plan. Several expert guest lecturers will speak to the class, including an expert in Ohio University’s ‘Pivot’ grantseeking system; a grant assessor on a local Foundation’s staff, and a local grantwriting expert who also serves on national grant assessment committees. Intended for the novice grantwriter, the course is open to both undergraduates and graduates. The course is particularly useful for future careers in in US or international non-profits, in the public sector, or in institutions of higher education.
