The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Ohio Affiliate
would like to show their support to FCS professionals through recognition
and funding. You or someone you know may benefit from the scholarships and
award programs we offer. *The deadline for all applications are due January

email and apply or nominate someone for the 2017 Awards and Scholarships,
listed below:
*College Student Awards:*

   - *OAFCS College Student Scholarship

   OAFCS will award one (1) $1,000 scholarship to a student enrolled in
   Family and Consumer Sciences in a university in Ohio. Scholarships are for
   one year, with the entire scholarship paid during the first semester
   directly to the college or university attending.
   - *OAFCS Outstanding Graduate Student Thesis and Dissertation Award

   OAFCS will recognize an outstanding thesis and dissertation completed
   the past two years. Application for the award can be made by either the
   student or major professor.
   - *OAFCS Outstanding Undergraduate Student Research Award

   OAFCS is seeking applications for outstanding undergraduate research
   completed during the past two years. The research must have been completed
   by a student while enrolled in a FCS undergraduate program in Ohio.
   - *Betsy Norum $500 Student Award to Attend AAFCS Annual Conference

   Apply to receive this award if you are a (1) student member of AAFCS,
   (2) a current college junior, (3) a first time attendee at the AAFCS Annual
   Conference and Expo

   - *Ohio Teacher of the Year Award

   Submit nominations and applications for a FCS teacher to represent Ohio
   in the AAFCS Teacher of the Year Award. FCS teachers are recognized for
   their continuing efforts to improve the lives of individuals and families
   through the teaching.
   - *OAFCS Friend of the Family Award

   It is time to nominate for recognition an individual or organization
   involved in making decisions that affects the well-being of families. The
   Friend of the Family is nominated by OAFCS members.
   - *OAFCS Distinguished Leader Award

   The Leader Award identifies and honors family and consumer sciences
   professionals who have made significant contributions to the field through
   their involvement with OAFCS and AAFCS.
   - *OAFCS New Achiever Award

   The New Achiever’s Award recognizes emerging professionals who have
   exhibited the potential to make significant contributions to family and
   consumer sciences.

   The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) recognizes superior achievements
   in family and consumer sciences, outstanding contributions to the family
   and consumer sciences profession and sustained association leadership at
   the state and local levels.
