Subject: From Marilyn Swierk-Please assist a colleague from Japan re: Service Learning in FCS Programs
Dear Council of Administrators of Family and Consumer Sciences Member,
I am writing to you on behalf of Keiko Masuda, a home economics professor from Japan. I am working with her to determine the types of Service Learning programs that exist within Family and Consumer Sciences Programs or classes in the US.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could send this out through your listserve to the FCS educators in your educational institution or organization, . They may receive multiple requests to participate, they should only reply to one and ignore subsequent requests. Their participation would be very helpful in providing insight to the integration of service at the college level.
The link to the survey out is: https://jp.surveymonkey.com/r/SB9T3N2
Please complete by: December 9, 2016.
In the meantime, can you please let me know if there is anything on posted on Youtube or elsewhere on the internet showing any of these programs or related projects completed within them. Any connections to the teachers involved, CD's, DVD's or other related material would be helpful and greatly appreciated as we continue our work in this area.
Thanks so much,
Marilyn Swierk
AAFCS President, 2009-10
