[Oafcs] OAFCS Board positions open

Members as we move towards Annual Conference it is time to secure nominations for the Executive Council. The following positions are open with a brief job description. In order to ensure that this organization continues to grow we need your help. Please respond to me by January 25th with a viable nomination (it does not hurt to nominate yourself for one of these position).

Positions:

President-Elect

*        Must have served one year on the Board (includes District Liaisons, Community Chairs)

*        It is a three year term commitment

*        Must be a current AAFCS member

*        Serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Board

Serve as a member of the Finance, Annual Conference, and the Program of Work Committees

*        Preside in the absence of the President

*        Serve as President upon removal or resignation of the President

*        Attend the Affiliate Presidents Unit Fall Leadership Workshop of AAFCS

*        Serve as Vice-Chair of the Ohio delegation to AAFCS

*        Serve the next year as President

Secretary

*        Serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Board (includes District Liaisons, Community Chairs)

*        Serve on the Annual Conference committee

*        Preserve the records of all official action and policy decisions

*        Maintain an organized file of minutes and correspondence. Place current minutes on the OAFCS website; archive older records

*        File the following for each meeting:

o   Meeting agenda

o   Record of attendance

o   Committee reports

*        Submit a concise written record of the proceedings for every meeting to the Executive Committee and Board at least five (5) days prior to the next scheduled meeting. Within thirty (30) days after the meeting, minutes shall be posted on the OAFCS Website with the omission of Treasurer's report and include the following:

o   Date, time and location

o   First and last names for each person referenced

o   Reports of the committee chairs

*        Distribute minutes of the Annual Conference Business Meeting




Vice-President-Elect Annual Conference

*        shall serve a total of three years assuming office June first (1st) with the following duties:

*        Serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Board

*        Serve as trainee for Annual Conference during the first year of term

Vice President of Membership

*        shall serve a two-year term (elected in the even-numbered years) or until the selection of a successor assuming duties June first (1st) with the following duties:

*        Serve as a member of the Executive Committee and Board

*        Serve on the Nominating and Annual Conference Committees

*        Serve as Chair of the Membership Committee

*        Promote membership and interpret membership policies

*        Follow-up with members who did not renew or who have incorrect contact information

*        Plan strategies that may be used to solicit new members and retain present membership

*        Cooperate as requested with universities that offer family and consumer sciences in Ohio

*        Work with districts on identifying membership
