The Ohio Nutrition Council (ONC) once again is pleased to announce the
availability of the Ohio Nutrition Council Scholarship.  Each year the fund
provides a scholarship to a qualified Ohio student who is pursuing a career
in food and nutrition.  The scholarship of $1,000.00 will be awarded for
the fall of 2009 to a student actively enrolled and majoring in dietetics,
nutrition science, family and consumer science, nutrition education,
culinary arts or other nutrition related disciplines.  The student must be
entering, in the fall of 2009, his/her junior or senior year in college,
dietetic internship, graduate school or the second year of a two year
program, be of good academic standing, a member of ONC and a legal resident
of Ohio.  Criteria are more fully described on the attached application
form.



The recipient of the 2009 award will be recognized at the Spring meeting of
The Ohio Nutrition Council.  The scholarship monies will be paid directly
to the recipient's college/institution in the fall of 2009.



I appreciate your posting the information about the ONC scholarship.
Please make copies of the application packet (enclosed) available to
students.  Applications are to be submitted to The Columbus Foundation,
1234 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205 by February 1, 2009 (postmarked
no later than 02/01/09).



Scholarship information and forms may also be accessed on the ONC website
at www.ohionutritioncouncil.org.



By providing scholarship awards to students who are pursuing one of the
various professions within the field of food and nutrition the Ohio
Nutrition Council membership expresses its dedication to and support of
these professions.  May our scholarship award provide not only financial
assistance but also recognition to deserving students.
