Visit Your Hometown High School

Description: Get involved and help Ohio University by taking a trip back to your hometown high school over spring break. VYHHS is a way that allows current OU students to get community service hours by reaching out to sophomores and juniors back at your hometown high school. Help out by giving a mini-presentation with a question and answer session to follow. Attend a 30-minute training session, where you receive tools and information to help you throughout your presentation.
Where:  Training Sessions held in Chubb 260
When: Tuesday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m. or Friday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m.

Up 'Til Dawn Annual Letter Sending Event
Description: Up 'Til Dawn is a student run organization on campus that is committed to helping raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  They are having a letter sending party where they ask you to address letters to your friends and family asking for donations. There will be free food, entertainment, and prizes. When: Sunday Feb, 27 from 1-8pm

Off-Campus Living: Community Clean-up Day

Description: Volunteers are wanted to come help with a litter collection initiative this Sunday! We want to demonstrate that students and residents can work together to make a noticeable difference in the litter problem in Athens.  If you cannot help for the whole time that's okay, any time contribution is appreciated.

Come Learn about SCORE Grants for your organization’s service projects!

Description: Informational meeting about SCORE Grants and the SCORE Grant process.
Ohio University's Women in Philanthropy is involved in resource development for the university and has taken a special interest in working with students involved in community service, and helping them understand and implement philanthropic activities especially through the SCORE grants.Grants are awarded in amounts up to $500. All requests will be considered.

When: Wednesday March 2 at 8pm

Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice

Description:Volunteers are needed who will be staying in Athens during the summer and would be interested in helping out 3-4 hours per week coordinating the volunteers who grow and arrange flowers for hospice clients and to supervise the actual flower arrangement on Monday afternoons.  This volunteer position would be great for anyone with a creative interest in flowers or who is interested in the therapeutic properties of flowers or who is interested in human resources and personnel management.
