Call for Proposals

2014 Playful Learning Summit @ Ohio University

Call For Proposal (CFP) Playful Learning Summit

The Playful Learning summit begins Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Baker Center. The Summit promotes professional development opportunities to explore and learn more about educators' use of games in various educational settings. We also seek to foster collaboration among pre-service and practicing teachers, designers, and researchers. The PLS will provide a unique forum for educators to network, design, and play.

We welcome proposals around the following formats:

WORKSHOP

An interactive hour long workshop in a single session, during which presenters engage the audience directly. Workshops are highly participatory and include discussion and debriefing following the activities. Make things, build things, test things - the sky's the limit!

PRESENTATION

An individual 45 minute presentation. Standard format used by most conferences. We especially welcome presentations that promote plenty of engagement and interaction throughout.

MICRO-PRESENTATION

This is a fun format that packs an information-filled punch. Highlight your experiences with games in the classroom. Show off new ways of thinking about games and learning, challenge the field and provoke the audience.

GAME ARCADE

Playful Learning Summit - Ohio University is soliciting educational games created by conference attendees. If your game is selected you will have the opportunity to share it in an all-day, arcade style setting where attendees can play and talk with you about your game. We encourage you to share links to downloadable demos and/or videos of game-play!
