The Department of World Languages and Cultures (WLC) in the College of<br>
Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking qualified<br>
candidates for the position of Program Coordinator II – Language Studies<br>
Resource Center (LSRC) Manager.<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
The manager of the LSRC will ensure the center’s alignment with department<br>
and university academic and resource goals; collaborate with faculty in the<br>
development of instructional technology components for classroom and<br>
blending learning initiatives; coordinate technology use with other<br>
departments and campus units; supervise center undergraduate staff; and<br>
manage the center’s daily operations.<br>

The successful candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple<br>
priorities with many distractions or interruptions, approach<br>
responsibilities with a collaborate mindset, have the ability to work with<br>
a diverse group of people, and possess excellent verbal, written, and<br>
interpersonal communication skills. In addition, the candidate will possess<br>
knowledge of education in languages and cultures, second-language<br>
acquisition, applied linguistics, or instructional design and be familiar<br>
with language-specific technology tools and course management systems such<br>
as Blackboard and Moodle.<br>

*Required Education and Experience*<br>

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree<br>
and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or<br>
related experience totaling 8 years unless otherwise specified under<br>
supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a<br>
comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.<br>

Demonstrated proficiency with social media and website development;<br>

Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and administration on grants<br>
for operational budget or hardware and software purchases;<br>

undergraduate student workers and/or graduate students);<br>
<br>
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and respond to requests in<br>
a timely manner;<br>

Experience creating online materials as a way to connect content-based<br>
instruction with student interest<br>

Experience with instructional design methods, computer-assisted language<br>
teaching, experiential learning, and online, hybrid, flipped, and/or<br>
blended course design and development<br>
