<br>Workshop Descriptions:<br>TAD Graduation Workshop<br>This workshop is recommended for any student filing a manuscript this quarter, next quarter, or if leaving town. Faculty and staff are also invited to attend. All steps and paperwork required will be covered for those filing a thesis or dissertation electronically or in paper before graduating. Manuscript format requirements and other resources on the Web site will be covered. If a student is unable to attend a Graduation Workshop, is leaving town, or needs to file off site, please go to <a href="http://www.ohio.edu/etd" target="_blank">www.ohio.edu/etd</a> for details and/or email <a href="mailto:etd@ohio.edu" target="_blank">etd@ohio.edu</a> for questions.<br>
<br>TAD Word Training<br>This training covers the essential skills needed to format manuscripts in Microsoft Word. Each lesson is designed to show students and faculty how to quickly format and troubleshoot manuscripts in Microsoft Word. Topics include: how to use TAD templates, setting global margins and headers; line spacing; page and section breaks; page numbering; automating the table of<br>
contents; formatting headings (styles); creating right-aligned tab stops with dot leaders for List of Tables/Figures; landscape pages; setting hanging indents on the reference page; formatting block quotes; widow and orphan controls; and more.<br>
<br>Spring 2009 Deadlines:<br>• Students should complete TAD Submission Form(s) (available at <a href="http://www.ohio.edu/etd" target="_blank">www.ohio.edu/etd</a> under Step 1) at the time they apply for graduation (apply here:<a href="http://www.ohio.edu/registrar/gradapp.cfm" target="_blank">http://www.ohio.edu/registrar/gradapp.cfm</a>).<br>
• Students should submit their in-process manuscripts for a pre-oral defense format check to <a href="mailto:etd@ohio.edu" target="_blank">etd@ohio.edu</a>.<br>• Students must submit the final post-oral defense manuscript to <a href="mailto:etd@ohio.edu" target="_blank">etd@ohio.edu</a> no later than<br>
-The dissertation deadline has already passed for Spring Quarter.<br>-Fri., June 5 (for Theses) at 3:00 p.m.<br>to meet the Spring Quarter 2009 deadline. (If a manuscript is available sooner, please submit it immediately upon the advisor's approval to <a href="mailto:etd@ohio.edu" target="_blank">etd@ohio.edu</a> for the final review process. This will ensure your timely graduation.)<br>
