[Itech] free workshops on digital accessibility

Hi IT Folks,

Some of you may find the upcoming series on digital accessibility relevant
to your work, especially if you'll be working in a public university.
You'll also get a copy of our *10 Easy Things* *You Can Do to Make Your
Course More Accessible *document to help you open a dialogue with the
faculty you're supporting.

Join us for three hands-on workshops focusing on digital accessibility.
Learn the basics, ask questions, and participate in training exploring
introductory topics in accessible media.

Workshop 1 (October 7th) : Unpacking Digital Accessibility

Workshop 2 (October 14th) : Creating Accessible Word Documents

Workshop 3 (October 21st) : Best Practices for Closed Captioning and
Transcripts

All workshops will be help in Alden Library Room 251, 1:30 to 3:00 pm.

Topics covered in these workshops are applicable to faculty, staff,
community members, and anyone interested in enhancing their online presence
to reach a larger, more diverse audience and providing access to everyone.
Participants who complete all three workshops will receive a completion
certificate from OHIO Academic Technologies and Student Accessibility
Services.

All programs/events in the ADA25 Celebration Series are open to the public
and must meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with
Disabilities Act (as amended, 2008) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
