First New Tech Coordinators' Symposium

eTech Ohio is hosting its first-ever New Technology Coordinators Symposium
on Friday, September 23. This all-day event will feature panels designed to
share information with attendees about the interconnectivity of Ohio’s
educational network. The day will also be an opportunity for seasoned
colleagues to share useful tips, resources, and ideas with those who are new
to their roles. Attendees will be able to take part in Q&A sessions and meet

Deeply Discounted Broadband Internet for Qualifying Families

Qualifying households with students enrolled in the free lunch program can
receive high-speed Internet services for $9.95/month, as well as vouchers
for deeply discounted computers and technology training. This initiative,
Internet Essentials, is being offered by Comcast for all qualifying families
in their service area. Internet Essentials is the first initiative of its
kind, and is a remarkable opportunity for Ohio students.

Ohio Educational Technology Conference

Ohio Educational Technology Conference preparations are now in full swing.
Don't miss your opportunity to make an impact on Ohio's educational
technology landscape in any of the following capacities:

*Submit a Session Proposal*: This year's theme, Next Generation Innovation,
invites proposals that embrace thoughtful integration of technology into the
classroom experience; share efficiencies with technological advances in
education; and evaluate tools for teaching all of our students. Proposal
submissions are due by Wednesday, October 12th at 11:59 pm. Proposal
notifications will be emailed by Friday, November 11th. To learn more, or

The ninth annual Ohio LinuxFest will be held on September 9-11, 2011 at the

professionals and enthusiasts interested in learning more about Free and
