    * New Dental Plan for Graduate Students *The Graduate Student Senate is
pleased to announce the creation of the "Preventative Maintenance Dental
Plan for Ohio University Graduate and Undergraduate Students." The $230
annual plan, offered in collaboration with Athens Dental Depot (located at
80 Columbus Rd., Athens), is a response to concerns expressed by graduate
students about dental care affordability in Athens. The plan covers all of
the necessary services for optimum dental health at a reduced cost and is
effective for one year from the enrollment date.

College Fellowship). These competitive fellowships provide a service-free
stipend and a full-tuition scholarship for fall and spring semesters, plus

* Graduate College to screen "PHD the Movie" Jan. 12 *[image: PHD Movie]As
a graduate student, Jorge Cham created comic strips as therapy to combat
the anxiety of pursuing higher education. His popular online comic strip
PHD Comics--about life (or the lack thereof) in academia--now has been
adapted into a live-action film following the lives of four graduate
students as they juggle research, teaching and a personal life.

As part of Ohio University's Science Café series funded by the 1804 Fund,
the Ohio University Graduate College will be hosting two free showings of
"PHD the Movie," at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, in Templeton
Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Running time for the feature is one hour and 7 minutes. Though the film is
not rated, audiences are advised to expect "PG" rating-style situations and
humor. The film was produced in partnership with Caltech and currently is
screening at hundreds of institutions around the globe. Seating will be

More than 600 undergraduate, graduate and medical students participate in
Ohio University's annual Student Research and Creative Activity Expo at the
Convocation Center each spring. The Expo provides an opportunity for
students to exhibit the results of their research, scholarship and creative
activity to the university and local community. Students may choose to
present their work to a panel of faculty judges, who award prizes of up to
$200 for the best project in dozens of categories organized by discipline.
The 2012 event will be held on Thursday, May 3. *Registration will begin on
