Job Description
The University of Northern Iowa seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor (rank dependent upon credentials) in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Division of Instructional Technology to begin August, 2011.
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate/graduate courses in instructional technology; conducting research; engaging in scholarly activities; participating in department/university initiatives; developing curriculum; contributing to a collegial team environment; advising graduate students; and serving on masters/doctoral level committees.
Job Requirements
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or closely related field (candidates with reasonable expectation of completion of doctorate by employment date may be considered); experience with interactive multimedia design, development and integration; experience in using collaborative, interactive and/or social media (Web 2.0) to support learning or professional development; experience in designing and/or delivering online instruction; and experience in instructional design and development for adult learners. Pre-employment background checks are also required.
Preferred qualifications include successful experience in training or professional development; successful teaching experience in higher education; potential for academic scholarship and clear research agenda; demonstrated involvement in professional organizations; and experience in using data to guide program development.
