He served as Chair of the 2006 Osteopathic Medical Education Summit, the first national effort to gather representatives of the undergraduate and graduate medical education community from across the country to discuss and develop solutions for pressing medical education issues. Kuchera, DO, FAAO, <span style='color:black'>Health Policy Fellowship Class of </span>2000-2001, </span></b><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>has been invited to present his osteopathic research in multiple international venues and is active in international leadership activities. He was invited to St. Petersburg University (Russian Federation) as a research scholar to hear and provide feedback on the research projects of scientists at the University's Institute of Osteopathy. He presented the keynote session during <i>Osteopathy and Functional Neurology,</i> hosted by the Saint-Petersburg Medical Academy of Postdoctoral Education. His presentation on <i>Using OMT to Enhance the Lives of Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Patients</i> was selected by the audience as the program's top scientific presentation. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoPlainText><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoPlainText><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>His position as Scientific Co-Chairperson of the 3rd International Fascial Congress to be held in Vancouver in March 2012, warranted the Australian Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine to invite Dr. Kuchera to Sydney. There he presented a hands-on workshop and updates on his lymphatic research (and that of other osteopathic institutions in the USA). He then travelled to deliver a lecture on osteopathic research to the faculty and osteopathic students of Southern Cross University in Lismore, Australia.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoPlainText><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoPlainText><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Dr. Kuchera was invited to provide a keynote speech on <i>Nitric Oxide and Pain</i> at the 15th Triennial FIMM Congress held conjointly with the German Manual Medicine Society (DGMM) in Potsdam, Germany. He also presented an evidence-based OMM workshop and five research posters from the Center for Chronic Disorders of Aging (PCOM) where he serves as clinical director. At the FIMM meeting he was re-elected to a second 4-year term as Secretary-General of the International Federation for Manual/Musculoskeletal Medicine (FIMM) and serves as a consultant to its Health Policy Board. Dr. Kuchera's health policy paper focused on international osteopathic issues and he serves as the American Academy of Osteopathy's International Affairs chairperson as well as a long term member of the AOA Bureau for International Osteopathic Medical Education and Affairs (BIOMEA). Dr. Steier is a member of the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Medical Educators and holds federal appointments with the Health Resources and Services Administration and the FDA.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Pa1><b><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>Ashok Tyagi, D.O., MBA, Training in Policy Studies Class of 2010,</span></b><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'> has accepted a position <span class=A0><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>as a Co-Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Tyagi is a pulmonary and critical care specialist who will work in cooperation with the pulmonary services group to care for ICU and other critical patients. </span></span><span style='color:#221E1F'> Dr. Tyagi <span class=A0><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'>graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City College of Medicine and Biosciences before completing an internal medicine residency at Northside Hospital and Tampa Bay Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida.
