Class of 2009-2010 </span></b><span style="font-size:14.0pt;">has been appointed
to the </span><strong><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;sans-serif&quot;;">Physician
Workforce Advisory Council</span></strong><span style="font-size:14.0pt;"> for
the state of Florida by Ana M. Viamonte Ros, M.D., M.P.H., Florida Surgeon
General.</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;">&nbsp; </span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;">The primary responsibility of Council is to advise the
state Surgeon General on matters concerning current and projected physician
workforce needs in Florida.&nbsp; These duties will include</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;"> r</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;">eviewing physician
workforce survey materials; reviewing graduate medical education data; assisting
in preparation of the Physician Workforce Annual Report; assisting in the
preparation of a Physician Workforce Strategic Plan; and monitoring and
providing recommendations regarding the need for an increased number of primary
care or other physician specialties. &nbsp;Dr. Seltzer is an orthopedic surgeon
practicing in West Palm Beach, Florida.</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt;"></span></p> 

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;"> &nbsp;</span></p> 

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt;">Ira P. Monka, DO, MHA, HPF
Class of 2003-2004</span></b><span style="font-size:14.0pt;"> was appointed as a
<b>Trustee to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey</b> - the
first DO in over twenty years to serve on the board. In addition, Dr. Monka was
elected to a three- year term as <b>President of the New Jersey Osteopathic
Educational Foundation.</b> &nbsp;Dr. Monka was also recently appointed to be
the <b>AOA national convention</b> <b>Vice-Chair</b> in 2011 and <b>Chairman</b>
in 2012. &nbsp;&nbsp;Dr. Monka is a family medicine physician practicing in
Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. </span></p>

Joucys, D.O., HPF Class of 1998-1999</span></b><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;sans-serif&quot;;"> was designated a <b>Health Care Hero</b>
by <i>Crain’s Detroit Business</i>. According to Crain’s, under Dr.
Juocys’ direction as Chief Medical Officer of Medical Network One, a
physician’s services group, MNO introduced the <b>Community Care Travel
Team</b> (CCTT). The CCTT, a complement to the Patient Centered Medical
Home,&nbsp; is a multi-disciplinary health care team (registered nurse,
certified diabetes educator, registered dietitian, lifestyle coach, behavioral
health specialist and exercise specialist) that brings its combined expertise to
individuals at PCP’s offices, the worksite, and educational/community
centers to evaluate, provide counseling, and help reduce the risk of
complications from chronic conditions. Because of Michigan’s high obesity
and type II diabetes rates, nearly 70% of the CCTT’s current efforts
focus on patients with diabetes. Dr. Joucys is a family medicine physician
practicing in Rochester, Michigan.</span></p>
