Hello Fellows:  Dr. Karen Nichols, Dean at the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, announces an opening for a full-time director of the Costin Institute for Osteopathic Medical Educators.

The Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (MWU/CCOM), located in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb in the greater Chicago area, is seeking a full-time Director of the Costin Institute for Osteopathic Medical Educators. Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine was founded in 1900 and has graduated over 6000 osteopathic physicians. The Costin Institute was endowed with a generous gift from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation in 2003.  It is named in honor of J. Richard Costin, DO, CCOM '49, one of the osteopathic profession's leading surgeons and teachers of general surgery. The Director of the Institute oversees the one-year Costin Scholars program providing instruction in innovative and effective methods of teaching, assessment and evaluation as well as guidance for "navigating the academic world." The program consists of four in-person sessions per year with on-line assignments between sessions. The Costin Institute has graduated over 180 Costin Scholars. This full time director/faculty member will guide the next phase of the growth and development of the Institute. There are additional opportunities for the Director of the Costin Institute to participate in educational programing and innovation at MWU/CCOM. Candidates must possess an EdD or PhD in related fields. The successful candidate will have proven faculty and administrative experience.
