Subject: [Hlthpol] Announcement

Fellows and List Serve Members: We are saddened to announce that Judith
Edinger passed away on February 21, 2010.

As many of you know, Judith was instrumental in establishing the Health
Policy Fellowship in 1994, when Barbara Ross-Lee, D.O., founded the program
during her tenure as Dean of Ohio University College of Osteopathic
Medicine. As Coordinator of the Fellowship, Judith was a key part of the
health policy education of the eighty-four Fellows in the Health Policy
Fellowship Classes of 1994-2002.

Judith dedicated her career to education. Prior to her position as HPF
coordinator, she served as a Learning Specialist at OUCOM. Following her
eight years with the Health Policy Fellowship, she served a Director of
PreDoctoral Education at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Judith will be missed by her partner, David Sturbois; her son, Jason
Edinger, D.O.; colleagues, family, and friends; and the many students she
counseled and taught throughout her career.

In celebration of her life a memorial service will be held at The Dairy Barn
Arts Center, Dairy Lane, Athens, Ohio from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday,
February 26th. Condolences can be offered online at Jagers Funeral Home,
www.jagersfuneralhome.com

Donations in memory of Judith may be sent to the Columbus Muscular Dystrophy
Association, 6600 Busch Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229-8258 (phone 614-841-1014).

Judith always said she did not want a funeral, explaining she would much
prefer that people gather to share stories and memories. Many of you can't
attend Judith's memorial service on Friday, and while you can offer
condolences at the link above, there might not be much room for text. So,
if you have memories you would like to share, please send them to me and I
will make sure they get to Judith's family, who will be comforted by knowing
how many people have been touched by Judith's life.
