RE: Town Hall/Health Care Panel at OMED

Dear Osteopathic Colleagues,

On November 3, we will host a Town Hall and Health Care Reform Panel at the OMED. Flyers will be distributed and the event will be promoted in many AOA communications vehicles. In addition to these efforts, we would appreciate your assistance in promoting the event to your colleagues. Shawn and Susan have assembled an excellent panel of health policy experts, and we would like to have as large a turnout as possible. Your help is greatly appreciated! The details are:

What: Town Hall and Health Care Reform Panel

When: Tuesday, November 3, 8:00-10:30 a.m.

Where: La Louisiane Ballroom C, Morial Convention Center

Featuring: IBM Executive Janet Marchibroda; American Enterprise Institute health policy expert
Joseph Antos; Third Way health policy expert David Kendall; and Kavita Patel, MD,
Senior Health Policy Advisor to the Obama Administration

Program: The program will begin at 8:00 a.m. with introductory remarks by an AOA Leader who will moderate the HIT program. Janet Marchibroda will discuss health information technology (HIT) and funding opportunities available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help physicians adopt HIT. Following Janet's presentation, Joe Antos, David Kendall, and Kavita Patel will each spend about ten minutes providing their perspectives on the current state of play in health care reform. At the conclusion of their remarks, the moderator for the health care reform panel will ask the panelists to respond to written questions provided by the audience.

Thank you in advance for helping to bring out as many of our colleagues and members of the osteopathic family
as possible!
