<p class="MsoNormal">While the pay may not seem that much, the cost of living here is cheap (I have a one of the nicest apartments and its 650 a month, renting a house is around 1000). This position will start out at a higher rate than I get and has I higher
ceiling. The benefits are good too. While they would like to fill the position with the best GISer in the world, Nancy’s boss stresses people that will fit well in their department and plan to stick around for a few years.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Unfortunately/fortunately our county is a bit behind the times. There is currently only a limited GIS data set/map system established. The first task of any individual getting the job will be building out the layers for the County. Once
that is complete they will assist on many different projects from parks to planning.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Lassen County itself is awesome if you like doing things outdoors, its unlimited and year round. If you don’t, there is nothing to do, nothing. That being said I have seen a handful of people move here only to leave shortly after because
they want the city life. <o:p></o:p></p>
