<p class="MsoNormal">The primary purpose of this position is to support the automated spatial data needs and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) implementation on the Santa Fe National Forest. The incumbent assists with the editing and maintenance of the Forest’s
spatial and tabular natural resources and infrastructure databases and associated National Applications (including hydrology, vegetation, soils, wildlife, range, fire, roads, trails, and recreation). The incumbent works with resource specialists to edit and
update databases and ensures regional and national data standards are met. The incumbent will also provide GIS analysis and map products for environmental assessments and impact statements, Forest Plan Revision and other projects. The incumbent may also
provide GIS support for fire particularly for Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation (BAER) as needed. In addition to providing GIS database management and analysis support, the incumbent may also utilize remote sensing software and data including satellite
imagery and LiDAR, and work with ArcGIS Online. A strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software is required including the use of editing, topology, and analysis tools. Experience with ArcSDE, Spatial Analyst, Model Builder, LiDAR, Google Earth, ERDAS
Imagine, ArcGIS Online, Microsoft Access and Excel, PL/SQL, Visual Basic Scripting, and Python is a plus. Note this is not a field job, although there are many opportunities for field trips.
