The student will work on projects related to a multi-year study, <em><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>'Connecting People, Places, and Barriers: The effect of these connections on adherence and retention in care for HIV positive drug users'</span></em>, funded by the National Institute of Health. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Qualified candidates should have a Master's degree in Geography or a related discipline. Candidates should have a strong interest in health/medical geography and a solid expertise in geocoding (e.g. large datasets, programming, and harvesting location data from text), Network Analyst functions, and basic statistics. The student will have exciting opportunities to further gain training and experiences in the following areas: a) Advanced GIS functions, b) spatial statistics, c) social-ecological modeling, d) social network analysis, and e) mixed methods research. In pursuit for a doctoral degree several databases are available to apply the acquired training and skills.
