Job Summary
Purdue University Libraries seeks an enthusiastic, creative, and innovative individual to join a collaborative, dynamic team of information professionals who carry out a robust program of integrated information literacy, data services, and scholarly communication. The Purdue Libraries provides a central place to the university in teaching, managing, and distributing geospatial information, as well as coordinating the teaching and outreach efforts for the campus GIS community. You will work with the Libraries' GIS team to fulfill this mission by engaging with faculty and students to meet their geospatial information needs.  You will be working with the Libraries' GIS team, this position will contribute to the instruction program at both undergraduate and graduate level, advise students in the GIS certificate program, support research projects with geospatial analysis and visualization, manage geodatabase and the GIS servers. You will also participate in the Big Ten Academic Alliance geospatial information network, contribute to outreach efforts such as Purdue GIS Day and BTAA GIS Conference.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:

  *   Master's degree from an accredited GIS program or a discipline with a significant GIS component
  *   Development of instructional materials and teaching experience
  *   Two (2) years of experience:

     *   in the use of GIS software to store, manage, create, analyze, and display geospatial data
     *   in creating and managing geodatabases and GIS server environment
     *   with GIS programming and web GIS

  *   Proficiency in web design and programming in Python and JavaScript

Skills Needed:

  *   Proficient with ArcGIS suite of software, including ArcGIS Pro, web and mobile application, and ArcGIS Enterprise
  *   Python programming or web GIS development
  *   Strong data management skills
  *   Excellent communication skills and good teamwork and project management skills
  *   Ability to work in a collaborative environment, and attention to details
