Subject: [HIGHERED-L] FW: GIS for understanding climate schange (webinar) August 4.

Hello all. Some of you might know that during the recent Education Summit we held the first Climate Change SIG meeting. There was a nice turnout (>100) and there was enthusiasm for the idea of focusing more of our collective resources (teaching materials, curricula, datasets, student competitions, events, etc.) on practical matters of applying GIS to remediation of climate change-related problems.

At the SIG meeting I promised to set up a group (probably on community.esri.com) where we can continue the conversation and the collaboration. This will likely happen in August or September.

In the meantime, this announcement just appeared in my university inbox, so I registered and I am passing along the invite 😊

Esri is taking climate change VERY seriously and is increasing staff and resources in several areas across the company to work on these matters. This webinar comes from the Industry Solutions side of the house.

Thanks for your attention and have a happy and safe sumer.
