[Geog_Jobs] Local AmeriCorps Service Opportunity

Hello!


I graduated from OU last spring with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental
Geography. Since August, I have been completing a year of AmeriCorps
service at Community Food Initiatives as the Food Education Coordinator.


COMCorps hosts the AmeriCorps program and is housed in OU’s Heritage
College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM). COMCorps has many host sites in
Athens County including Community Food Initiatives, Rural Action, and Live
Healthy Appalachia just to name a few. COMCorps is currently accepting
applications for our next year of service beginning in August. This may be
of interest to students who are graduating and looking to gain professional
experience that focuses on food justice, education, public health, or
social work. Although the official deadline is April 1st, the priority
deadline is March 1st, which is quickly approaching. I have included some
attachments that speak more on the COMCorps program and feature a complete
list of host sites. I am happy to answer any questions about my term of
service or the COMCorps application process, and my email is listed below.
