Good afternoon all:

It is once again time to seek out new AmeriCorps members for the upcoming year (August 16, 2019 through August 14, 2020). If you know of eligible candidates who may be interested, please send the attached announcement their way. There are three available positions on the Wayne National Forest, as well as positions with other organizations in the region. I'd appreciate your help getting out the announcement.

*         Watershed AmeriCorps: Member will assist with the Forest's Watershed program and other Forest related projects and activities; will participate in environmental education/awareness programs and activities; will attend required meetings, seminars, trainings, and events as needed and collaborate with other AmeriCorps members and community leaders with their programs and activities (upon supervisor approval). *         Volunteer and Outreach AmeriCorps: This member will collaborate with WNF district staff, Rural Action, and other organizations and individuals to identify and plan projects and volunteer opportunities. The member will recruit, train, organize, and oversee volunteers and volunteer activities and ensure the proper safety policies are followed. *         Forest Education AmeriCorps: Member activities include development and implementation of education programs geared toward the historic and environmental significance of the forest. Member will organize activities focusing on environmentally conscious practices within the forest along with organizing events such as clean ups as volunteer opportunities for visitors who want a broader hands-on educational experience. Volunteer recruitment and management skills are needed for this position.
