Ohio EPA has just posted an “Environmental Specialist” position that is focused on stormwater. Job duties, as follows:

Responds to internal and external requests for technical assistance related to erosion, sediment and storm water control practices. Reviews storm water pollution prevention plans and applications related to construction and municipal separate storm sewer system general permits and recommends actions to be taken (e.g., approval, disapproval or more information required) to comply with state & federal standards. Ensures compliance with program policies and regulations. Reviews technical documents and engineering reports related to impacts to surface water resources and development sites. Performs investigations and evaluations of construction sites, storm water facilities and streams. Consults with local officials, engineers, construction site owners and operators, and the public. Prepares recommendations, written reports and correspondence.

Assists in development of new standards and specifications for best management practices. Develops procedures, guidance, and factsheets. Provides training and presentations for Agency personnel, regulated community and others related to storm water permits, best management practices, plans and implementation. Prepares and submits factsheets, guidance and reports. Attends meetings, seminars and keeps current on technical developments.
