State of West Virginia seeking GIS programmers for temporary position in Charleston.

The GIS division of West Virginia's Department of Health and Human Resources is looking for potentially interested candidates for a temporary GIS/ programmer position. We are putting this out to seek potential candidates. This position will be open to apply for a permanent GIS position with the division.
The location will be in Charleston, WV.

Generally with the state of WV when programs apply for temporary positions they have someone in mind. We do not currently have that. This position will take at least six weeks before it is officially posted.

We are looking for a temporary GIS programmer Analyst 1 that can follow the application programming tract. Particularly useful is if the person has a strong .NET and JavaScript application development and other web development experience. Much of our work is with the Office of Environmental Health Services. We will be trying to fill either a 1000 hour position that could be completed in 25- 35 weeks depending on the candidate's preference.

Or, if a candidate had a GIS back ground but also has 5 years' experience .NET Programmer Analyst/ development; 3 years' experience with web development, ASP.Net, Visual Studio, or .NET framework; and 2+ years' experience with Java Script, C#; and 5 years' experience with Relational Database. If a person like that were interested in a temporary position we could get approved for a 1 year full time contractor position.

Please let me know if you are potentially interested. Send me: when you would be available to start; what degree/s you have; what GIS background you have; what programming and application development you have. Anything else that think important. You don't need to send a resume at this stage but that is welcome too. Do send the best way to contact you. If you send an email make the subject line read temporary GIS position. You can also send any questions you may have regarding this position. I commute from Athens and would be open to carpool options possibly.
